Overview

Veterinary dermatologists are doctors who specialize in skin, hair, and ear conditions in a multitude of species. Dermatologists diagnose and treat various disorders – some of the more common conditions that our team addresses include pruritic (itchy) skin disorders, chronic otitis (ear infections), skin allergies, recurrent pyoderma (skin infection), alopecia (hair loss), and skin parasites. While the majority of our patients are dogs and cats, the Dermatology Team also examines and treats dermatologic conditions in horses, goats, and cattle.

The Dermatology Service is staffed by trained professionals including board-certified clinicians, licensed veterinary technicians, and highly qualified support staff to give your pet the best possible care.

Pets affected by dermatologic conditions often have complex and long-standing conditions. Consequently, management of your pet may require extended therapy and potentially life-long care. We may be able to offer a ‘cure’ for some conditions whereas others require continuous management (e.g., allergies). Often times our role is to provide a definitive diagnosis and offer solutions to make your pet more comfortable!
