Equine Neonatal & Pediatric Care

The equine medicine service provides medical services spanning from early pregnancy to parturition (delivery) through the neonatal period (first 10 days of life) to weanling age. 

Common diseases that the medicine service encounter include:

  • Placentitis (in utero infection during gestation)  
  • Assisted deliveries
  • Care of the sick newborn foal as well as older foals.
  • pediatric care
