Payment Information and Options

After your consultation with our attending clinicians, you will receive a cost estimate for the recommended tests and treatments. Please note that this estimate is not a binding quote and may change based on your individual pet. Any changes to the estimate will be communicated to you before proceeding with additional procedures, unless an emergency situation arises.

Clients are required to pay in full for all services received on the day they are provided, or upon discharge for inpatients. Payment can be made in the form of cash, personal check, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover or CareCredit.

If your pet stays with us for at least one night, they are considered an inpatient. Before your pet is admitted, we require your approval of a cost estimate as well as a deposit equal to the low end of the estimate. Payment of the remaining balance is expected at the time of the patient’s release from the hospital. Additional charges or credits may be applied after dismissal. You will then receive a revised invoice and the additional charges will be due at time of receipt.

Financing with CareCredit

While the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC) does not directly finance client accounts, a financing option is available through CareCredit.

CareCredit is a program available for all veterinary services in both the Small and Large Animal Hospital. For more information about this financing option, or to apply for a CareCredit account to be used at the LVMC, visit www.carecredit.com. You may also apply over the phone at (800) 677-0718.

LVMC staff can also assist you with an application at the hospital. Please ask one of our reception desk staff for more information.

Pet Insurance

The LVMC provides cutting-edge treatments for sick and injured animals, but we recognize that the cost of medical and surgical services can be overwhelming.

Many pet owners opt for pet health insurance, and several companies offer various plans for animals. Typically, these policies operate on a reimbursement basis: you pay your veterinary bill, and the insurance company reimburses you according to your policy’s terms. We ask that clients coordinate directly with their pet insurance companies for the reimbursement of medical expenses.

At the LVMC, we understand that caring for your beloved companion can sometimes be costly. As part of a public university, most of our revenue comes from the services we provide, which allows us to pay our staff, maintain state-of-the-art equipment, and deliver top-notch veterinary care.

They can help you set realistic expectations for the cost and outcomes of care, explore alternative treatment options, and provide guidance on the associated expenses and potential results of different treatment plans.
