Student Support
The cost of furthering students’ education within a professional program is ever-increasing. Scholarships are essential in enabling students to attend Iowa State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Student support is greatly appreciated and ensures students will have access to a plethora of knowledge, organizations, and activities that will help them excel in the classroom, while building the skills, character, and confidence they will utilize for years to come. Our students are dedicated to becoming the next generation of veterinarians and your support will help prepare them for meaningful work and a lifetime of service following graduation.
Faculty Support
Veterinary medicine faculty members are in great demand, with multiple schools vying for the same individuals. Endowing faculty positions helps make Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine more competitive in this aspect. Faculty endowments are critical to assist in the recruiting of key people in emerging areas, including infectious disease research, and in specialty areas of veterinary medicine. As universities and the private industry compete for the best talent, we must continually work to also retain the extraordinary faculty and researchers already in place.
Programmatic Support
Programs and collaborative centers provide unique opportunities to mesh education, research, and outreach. The Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine will launch new programs and enhance existing programs that provide critical services and resources for practitioners and citizens in Iowa and across the nation. Endowments to grow funds for existing areas of significance, including biomedical informatics research and infectious disease programs are also high priorities. Funds in this area may support research endeavors, software and technology development, and graduate student and faculty recruitment and retention.
