The VDPAM Beef Team supports Midwest producers and veterinarians with animal health and production issues through consultations and on-farm visits.
The ISU FSVM Dairy Group is conducting research on bedding materials for dairy cows, comparing recycled sand and organic compounds, and investigating metabolic problems, poor production, and mastitis on farms. They are also studying mechanisms to minimize disease transmission from colostrum and waste milk.
The VDPAM Poultry Unit, CFSPH, IDALS, and EIC support hobby farmers, producers, and veterinarians in the Midwest and beyond with poultry production issues, decision-making to maximize production, and field-applicable research collaborations.
The small ruminant section of Food Supply Veterinary Medicine (FSVM) is expanding, offering a wide range of services for veterinarians and producers.
The VDPAM Swine Team assists producers and veterinarians with daily animal health and production issues through consultations and on-farm visits. They also represent the College of Veterinary Medicine in collaborations with industry organizations, ISU Extension Service, and the Iowa Pork Industry Center.
The Iowa State University VDPAM Theriogenology Team helps and assists producers and veterinarians in the Midwest achieve reproductive goals on individual animals or within any production animal herd setting.
